David grew up in San Diego, California, where the constant jet traffic overhead sparked his early curiosity about aviation. Although he originally planned for a career in medicine and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from BYU–Idaho, a friend encouraged him to take a discovery flight which immediately shifted his career path toward aviation.
As a flight instructor, David is passionate about helping students build confidence, develop strong fundamentals, and discover their own excitement for flying. He brings a background in instruction, having tutored biology and coached rugby, and he enjoys using that experience to pass on aviation knowledge in the cockpit.
Outside of flying airplanes, David enjoys baseball, rugby, pickleball, and riding motorcycles to explore beautiful Southern Utah. He’s committed to helping each student reach their full potential and welcomes new learners ready to start their journey in aviation.
